watching Guy Maddin's Dracula, which is his film based on the Winnipeg Ballet doing Dracula was great tonight.

I really got excited when I turned on the hockey game (US vs Sweden) immediately after and was reminded how much hockey is like ballet.

As usual the directors commentary is great, just like a good commentator at a hockey game (to take the metaphor one step further)

It is new years eve and I am grumpy. I dont get grumpy very often (I dont think) and I rarely post on my blog when I am grumpy but...

I am dwelling on all things I havent done in the last five days, five months, five years!!! I wont go into details but I am reminded tonight that one of the biggest sacrifices you can make is having children. Yah, I know how great it is and how lucky we are.....tonight I am just grumpy.

Ill cheer up. Maybe everyone will go to bed and I will watch the Guy Maddin film I rented. (what a loner huh?)

Just watched ron mann's film Go Furtherand man is it great. Check out the trailer. My immediate inspiration is to give up drinking milk, check out yoga (although I have been threatening that for a while) and looking into hemp paper. We shall see.

I really want to see all of ron's films. he is really good.

what a fun night last night. I love the double header or social event plus gig type evening...ie. if you are getting a babysitter may as well "go all the way."

Great social evening at the Drake for the Woodchoppers tenth anniversary. Some great music too but, most of it was made while I was in the audience. that is part of the excitement with the WCA; you never know what is going to happen.

I did however get to hang out with one of my favourite authors and meet another that wrote one of my favourite books. I think that is one of the great things about where we live...ok, gotta go flip the laundry. happy new beers!!

Go canada go!!

I am back downstairs after my two hour nap with dylan (didn't even read him a story tonight as we were both exhausted)

Here is my Christmas survey for my Christian bloggers out there (can one question be a survey?) If you are in the room by yourself, do you turn on the Christmas lights on the tree?
