I support the move of the CRTC to increase the amount of jazz and blues required by radio stations. If we weren't partially guided by the CRTC the only radio that would exist would probably be dance music for kids. (ie. Whatever sells advertising will dominate)

Since most good Canadian jazz music is now released on indepent labels it will take some serious research for radio to find the Canadian jazz artists releasing new material each week. (as we have little or no budget for distribution or advertising) It will be worth it to help keep some diversity on our airwaves.

Hopefully the radio stations can move into this Century and use the internet to research and gather the nescessary music to meet their new CRTC demands.
