I am listening to a great Doc Boggs CD that my pal Dave loaned me (you really want this back Dave?!!)

Anyways, this may be my last blog post for a while as I will be away from computers (hurray!)

If you live in Ottawa or are in the region check this out for sure. Two friends of mine coming together for the first time ever in concert.

Ok...a little confession; I am a hockey NERD. Today is the big trade deadline...for those who don't know what that is; it is the final day of the year where NHL teams are allowed to trade with other teams to aquire new players.

Fortunately, I have one of those days where I have a lot to do where I can listen while I work. Usually, I would be listening to CD after CD after record...etc.

Today however I am listening to The Fan590 on AM radio and enjoying every minute of it. For example, seconds ago, veteran player Sergei Federov was just traded to Washington...very exciting because they might play him on the powerplay with Ovechkin...

Hope some of you are enjoying trade deadline day and others just enjoying laughing at me for being such a....NERD.

Wow...they just showed "I Met the Walrus" on television after the Oscars ended...amazing!

It is really worth checking out. A twelve year old kid interviewed John Lennon and this conversation was animated with computer animation...abstract, funny, insightful and beautiful.

I should mention that I also saw one of the other nominees for that category called Madame Tootely Pootely (or something like that) and I am surprised it didn't win tonight as it really is quite heavy too. It was made in Quebec.

These days I have been so busy. This is always a good thing when you are a freelancer. It has been extra fun to be playing other people's music while I am working on my own new CD (...my seventh!)

One of the things I am doing is working with Ciara Adams. She is a singer songwriter and also a jazz singer. It is fun to be working with her on the release of her new CD, which is more of a pop/rock thing. It is not that cut and dry though...it is diverse and eclectic too. Some of her songs remind me of Jane Sibbery and beyond that her influences probably run far and wide (I actually never asked her is she is into Sibbery...isn't everyone?)

Extra fun because it is an all female band except for me!!

We are releasing her new CD this Thursday night at the Lula Lounge, here in Toronto (I could walk if I wasn't bringing an amp!)

Here is the video from her first single.
